Reinventing the Wheel, A Trilogy presents awareness training as developed by Mary Rocamora in a lesson plan that spans three volumes. It teaches people how to recognize all dimensions of the ego pattern and provides a practical, accessible method for gaining the freedom to inhabit an ever-deepening open heart.

The first book, The Ring Around the Mind, introduces the basic principles of awareness training. It presents a series of inductive lessons to help beginners identify their patterns and gives them tools to get free of any pattern in the moment it is activated. Presence, which gradually takes the place of pattern, is presented experientially in familiar contexts so that it is easier to recognize.

The second book, Stairway to Freedom, introduces the meta-pattern of the ego and a path to a much greater freedom. Additional principles relevant to this level are incorporated. The lesson plan offers meticulous, systematic illumination of all the elements of the ego and helps people take the steps toward letting go into the free state, moment by moment. The process of recognizing presence is taken further so it develops into a more sustainable state of awareness.

The third book, Field Guide, is an experiential tour of the free state of awareness, so that this new terrain will become as familiar as ego. Principles will be added that will bring forth deeper understanding and integration. The lesson plan familiarizes people with the nature and qualities of the free state and focuses attention on what is really here to be lived beyond our patterns. Congruence with each individual’s life plan without interference from ego and focus on mastering the states of consciousness attainable through the open heart is the essence of this book. Readers will be left with skills to develop sustainability, curiosity and spiritual autonomy.

Mary Rocamora, founder and director of The Rocamora School, Inc., has been counseling gifted adults for more than 24 years, plus researching how beliefs and patterns of thinking impact self-actualization and creativity.

"The Ring Around The Mind", the first book in a trilogy expanding the scope of the original "Personal Journey Workbook" (featured below), is a new 15-lesson intensive that introduces readers to the principles and process of awareness training. Recognizing old patterns and mastering the moves to break free come systematically in this lesson plan. In awareness work, everything depends on what feels right or true, right now, and our perceptions become more fine-tuned with practice.

Here are reader's reactions to the material:

"This is a gem of a spiritual practice that allows a person to step out of suffering and begin to live a life of freedom in their awareness. Mary has so brilliantly mapped out the world of human consciousness and made it real, accessible, and possible for anyone to step into and experience. It is all the Buddhist teachings I have every studied and made more accessible and tangible. The Ring Around the Mind is such a gift of heart and soul."

"I have been an Awareness student with Mary for more than seven years now and prior to reading this book, I had never seen the work so organized and accessible on paper. Her preface is personal, yet exact, inviting you in without distracting from the purity of the process she is introducing to you. The segue-way of the preface to the basic principles moves seamlessly, allowing the reader to relax into the rich content before them as it unfolds organically. Each chapter builds upon the last and steadily guides you through the lesson plan, adding to your tool box with plenty of opportunity to review and expand upon previous subject matter. Plus she makes it fun! The decision to write this material as an interactive workbook as opposed to static text is a perfect match for the “experiential nature” of Awareness. No matter what your background, if you have any draw to your inner world, this book is a necessary companion. I find I can read sections or the entire text over and over extracting something new each time. I really feel Mary has cracked the code, now I just have to implement it! I wait with joyous anticipation to dive into the next installment of the Trilogy. "
